The U.S. president wants the two countries completed the dispute
MUMBAI: U.S. President, Barack Obama yesterday urged India and Pakistan to work together to resolve their dispute, other than urging Islamabad to
act more firmly to deal with extremist groups.
Speaking to college students in Mumbai, Obama said the United States can not implement the partnership between the two countries, but India will have to add more benefits than any other country through good relations with Pakistan.
"I believe that countries that have the greatest stake in Pakistan is India," he told students at St Xavier's College in south Mumbai.

"If a stable and prosperous Pakistan, it is best for India." He supports the dialogue process is moving slowly between the two countries to build confidence and provide a basis for dealing with leaders involved in the difficult aspects of their relationship, especially in the divided Kashmir region.

"My hope is no longer the trust will be established between the two countries and the dialogue could begin with less controversial issues to the more controversial issues," he said.

He said he hoped there would be recognition that India and Pakistan can live side by side in peace. "
India and Pakistan engaged in three wars since 1947 and suspend peace talks after the Mumbai attacks nearly two years ago that killed 166 people and caused more than 300 others injured.

The sole surviving gunman, said the band members are trained, equipped and financed Islamic groups based in Pakistan, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) with the help of troops and intelligence agents of that country.

The main opposition, Bharatiya Janata Party "BJP" and other parties in India on Tuesday said Obama missed an opportunity to condemn Pakistan in his first speech upon arrival at Mumbai.

Indians also questioned the continued military support and assistance the United States to Pakistan that they deemed as an evil nation.
