NEW YORK: Taylor Swift has reportedly managed to sell overs one million compact discs CDs for her latest album, "Speak Now" and continues to dominate
the Billboard album chart this weeks.
Billboard.com said Wednesday that it was the largest sale since The Massacre by 50 Cent 5 years ago.
"I can not believe it. You give me light to the world. Thank you, "Swift wrote in Tweeter last Wednesday.
According to Nielsen SoundScan count, Speak Now sold 1,047,000 copies since released last week. It is slightly higher than figures recorded
1,006,000 Tha Carter III by Lil Wayne in 2008.
Craig Marks, editor of Billboard, said the victory Swift strengthen its status among the most influential pop music star.
"What he did is probably equivalent to sell two million records or more, six years ago. It is a remarkable achievement, "he said.
Speak Now is the third album the 20-year-old singer. Scott Borchetta, chief executive of Swift record label, Big Machine, said the
 most recent success was like a dream.
"Everyone is working hard to produce the album and it is truly amazing couple of weeks ago," he said in an interview Tuesday.
